Melbourne is the state capital of Victoria and is the second largest city in Australia.  It has a temperate oceanic climate (Köppen climate classification, however it is very changing weather conditions. The reason for such variety is mainly due to Melbourne’s geographical location. During springtime, this temperature differential is most pronounced and the summer months can cause strong cold fronts to form.

It is these cold fronts that can be the cause of all sorts of severe weather from gales to severe thunderstorms and hail, minor temperature drops, and heavy rain.  Noting the potential severity and diversity of the Melbourne weather, a Colorbond® water tank would make an ideal choice for those looking to invest in a rain water harvesting system.

COLORBOND® steel has a corrosion resistant ZINCALUME® steel substrate and a baked on paint finish that resists peeling, flaking and blistering in normal weather conditions.

It’s been tested in a variety of Australian environments and under all sorts of weather conditions, proving it to be a reliable and long life cladding material suitable for a range of commercial and industrial shed applications.

Pioneer rain water tanks are engineered to ensure their structural integrity, specifically utilising our 880-Vlock tank wall profile to ensure your water tank can withstand the harsh Melbourne climate.
